Eurohelp at the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress
Held in Barcelona on October 16-18, IoTSWC2018 featured two colocalized events: Blockchain Solutions World Congress and Artificial Intelligence & Cognitive Systems World Congress.
Eurohelp was one of the exhibitors and presented solutions in the fields of Blockchain, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Strategic Intelligence and Smart Cities.
The use of IoT means better management of processes in different sectors, allowing cost reductions, environmental incentives and new business opportunities thanks to the handling of more data. In fact, in many cases, where the IoT has initially been proposed as a tool to monitor production processes, even the business models themselves have been transformed. More data allow better control of the process and facilitate a better governance.
In recent years, Eurohelp has developed several solutions in the field of IoT, generally in the areas of Smart Cities and Big Data but also in other areas where, especially in the last year, Blockchain has emerged as a powerful IoT ally.
Partner of Alastria (Blockchain National Ecosystem), Eurohelp has its own Blockchain Lab with a team dedicated to developing solutions for various domains such as traceability, cybersecurity, data sovereignty and certified navigation, among others.
Within the Smart Cities area of Eurohelp (member of the Donostia Smart Cluster), the Replicate project is one of the most representative and was presented at IOTSWC2018. Replicate is co-financed within the H2020 program with contract number 691735 (European call SCC1 Smart Cities and Communities) and coordinated by Fomento San Sebastián (dependent entity of the Department of Economic Impulse of Donostia - San Sebastian). It is a Lighthouse project with interventions in three cities: San Sebastian, Bristol and Florence. Eurohelp has contributed to the definition and development of the Smart City Platform and has developed the Citizen Participation and Linked Data platforms for the city of Donostia - San Sebastián. In addition, Eurohelp has contributed to the Replicate Project KPI Dashboard, taking advantage of one of its main strengths, such as the visualization of knowledge, with techniques that allow attractive, intuitive and interactive visualizations. These are key characteristics for a quick understanding of information both to promote Transparency and to favor decision-making policies. Eurohelp has applied these techniques in numerous projects for Public Administration and Private Corporates.
In addition, Eurohelp presented Zocaalo: a platform that facilitates the development and dissemination of accessible and easy-to-use applications for elderly users. It is a project framed within the strategy of the European Union to improve the quality of life of the elderly through the application of innovative ICT solutions. The project participates in the AAL program of the European Union and is co-financed by the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda (MINETAD) with reference number AAL-010000-2015-18.
